Usuthu shake-up: AmaZulu make shock decision on coach

AmaZulu have confirmed the departures of a coach and a club director as part of a major restructuring process.

Pedro Dias joined Usuthu in October 2023, taking charge of all football-related activities, while Simo Dladla returned to the KwaZulu-Natal side at the start of this season after guiding Durban City to the ABC Motsepe Championship title and promotion to the Betway Premiership.

In a statement on Friday, club President Sandile Zungu explained that the changes are part of a broader restructuring aimed at streamlining operations and creating a high-performance environment aligned with AmaZulu FC’s long-term ambitions.

“Mr Dias joined the club in October 2023 and was entrusted with overseeing all football-related activities. As part of the club’s renewed technical direction, it has been resolved to discontinue the Director of Football role in favour of a more integrated football management structure,” said Zungu.

On Dladla, Zungu added that the coach brought in meaningful contribution at the club.

“He has made a positive contribution within the Arthur Zwane-led technical team. Prior to his tenure at AmaZulu, he guided Durban City to the ABC Motsepe Championship title and secured promotion to the Betway Premiership.”

The club president extended his sincere appreciation to both Dias and Dladla for their professionalism, dedication, and meaningful contributions.

“Their service has been valued, and they leave with the club’s full respect and gratitude,” Zungu concluded.

“We wish them every success in their future professional endeavours and are confident they will continue to display the utmost professionalism until the conclusion of their contracts.”
