Clifford had replaced Bahlabane ba Ntwa talisman Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo in the 35th minute following an injury to the former Orlando Pirates midfielder.
Gallants came out determined to claim all three points in the second half with winger Katlego Otladisa providing the biggest threat for the home side.
That being said, both teams could not create clear chances in the second stanza filled with fouls and neither side really testing the opposition goalkeeper.
The result sees Gallants move above Siwelele FC into 11th position on the table whilst Magesi remain four points behind them in 15th spot.
