Former Kaizer Chiefs development player Puso Dithejane opened the scoring for Galaxy in the 17th minute and later turned provider, setting up Mory Keita’s goal in the 83rd minute. Arrows attempted a late fightback when Keenan Phillips scored in the 88th minute, but they could not find an equaliser to deny the home side all three points.

The result marked an important return to winning ways for Galaxy following their defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns before the international break.

Galaxy’s victory lifted them to sixth place on 19 points, with Arrows dropping to ninth on 16.

Durban City 0-0 Richards Bay

In the later game, Richards Bay FC and Durban City played out a tense, goalless stalemate at the uMhlathuze Sports Complex.

It was a tactical battle high on discipline but low on clear scoring opportunities.

Both sides walked away with a point that carried different implications. City remained inside the top eight, continuing their impressive debut season in the top-flight. Richards Bay, meanwhile, edged five points clear of the relegation zone, taking another step toward stabilising their campaign.

Gavin Hunt’s side travelled to the north of KwaZulu-Natal with a quiet sense of revenge after being knocked out of the Carling Knockout by the Natal Rich Boyz a few weeks ago. Their intentions were clear from the opening whistle, although their plans required adjustments even before kick-off.

The result lifted Durban City seventh on the PSL standings with 19 points, while Richards Bay sit 10th with 14 points.
