Siwelele head coach Lehlohonolo Seema feels his team are starting to improve despite their narrow 1-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates in the Carling Knockout.
Seema took charge of Siwelele for their first ever South African top-flight season this term, following their purchase of SuperSport United.
After nine league games, Seema’s side find themselves in 12th place on the standings with two victories, one draw and six losses.
They managed to overcome Marumo Gallants 1-0 before their cup loss, which was a far more competitive performance than in a number of previous encounters.
Seema admits it will take time for his team to gel, but says he is starting to see improvements.
“We’re not happy to be out of the cup. We really wanted to have another game outside the league.
“But this gives us another opportunity to work on ourselves,” said the head coach in the Citizen.
“You saw today that there’s a fight and an understanding between the new players and those who’ve been here for a while. We’re working hard, and the team is starting to take shape.
“We want to become a side that’s hard to break down and beat. Slowly but surely, there’s light at the end of the tunnel.”
Siwelele are next in action against Kaizer Chiefs away from home, after the international break, on Wednesday 22, October.
