Magesi beat Mamelodi Sundowns to win last season’s Carling Knockout, and got this season’s campaign underway with a 3-2 away win over AmaZulu.
Kgomotso Mosadi scored first for Magesi after 26 minutes and Abbey Seseane added a second on 33 minutes..
Athini Maqokola pulled a goal back on 56 minutes and Mlondi Mbanjwa levelled with his 71st minute strike, but Thabiso Kutumela secured the win for Magesi with his goal a minute into stoppage time at the end of the match.
