Betway Premiership: Sekhukhune United suffer first defeat of the season while Arrows demolish Orbit

Sekhukhune United’s unbeaten run in the league finally came to a halt with a narrow defeat to Polokwane City, while Golden Arrows continued their fine form by cruising to a second straight win, thumping newcomers Orbit College 3-0 at King Zwelithini.

Polokwane City halts Sekhukhune United’s unbeaten streak

Sekhukhune United unbeaten record in the league this season came to an end after a 1-0 loss against Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The only goal of the game came just after the half hour mark when Mokibelo Ramabu found the back of the net.

Sekhukhune threw everything at the hosts in the second half with the league’s top scorer, Bradley Grobler, being kept quiet.

After six wins and two draws, it was their first loss in nine matches for Eric Tinkler’s charges, while it was their fourth league match of the campaign for Rise and Shine.

Golden Arrows convincingly shoot down Orbit College

Golden Arrows made it two consecutive wins in the Betway Premiership after a convincing 3-0 victory against newly-promoted Orbit College at the King Zwelithini Stadium.

Junior Dion fired the home side in front after just two minutes, and Orbit did not recover from the early setback.

Siyanda Ndlovu doubled the lead after 23 minutes before substitute Jerome Karlese sealed the win with 20 minutes remaining.

The three points see Arrows move into the top-eight places while Orbit fell to their sixth defeat in nine league outings this season.
