Stellenbosch FC have bolstered their attacks by acquiring the services of NFD Golden Boot winner Muzomuhle Khanyi from Hungry Lions FC.
Khanyi joins the Cape Winelands-based team following an impressive season where he netted 18 goals for Lions to become the Motsepe Foundation Championships top goalscorer.
The 26-year-old is expected to team up with Ashley Cupido, who recently debuted for the national team, and Lehlohonolo Majoro, who is expected to return from a long-term injury layoff.
“It’s an honour to join a club with the winning mentality of Stellenbosch FC. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve made in my career to join the club, and I already feel at home,” Khanyi said in a statement that was released by the club.
“I’m here to learn – I know it’s going to be difficult because I’m new at the club and stepping up from the NFD – but I hope I can continue with the form I showed last season,” he concluded.
Stellies recently announced the departure of three players, including Liam De Kock, Shaakir Ahmed and Brian Onyango, while Sihle Nduli joined Pirates after his contract expired.
