Sekhukhune United have confirmed the contract extensions of several key players, including veteran defender Daniel Cardoso and captain Linda Mntambo.
Cardoso, who joined Babina Noko from Kaizer Chiefs in 2022, and Mntambo, a former Orlando Pirates midfielder, have both played vital roles in the club’s recent success.
Their renewed deals signal the club’s intent to maintain stability and push for greater achievements in the upcoming campaign.
Also committing their futures to Sekhukhune are striker Chibuike Ohizu, winger Vusimuzi Ncube, and Congolese centre-back Tresor Tshibwabwa – all of whom were influential during the 2024/25 season.
Sekhukhune ended the campaign in fourth place for the second year running, collecting 46 points from 28 matches – narrowly missing out on a CAF Confederation Cup qualification by just two points.
Ohizu featured in 25 games and netted six goals, while Cardoso made 27 appearances at the heart of the defence.
Ncube added creativity from wide areas, chipping in with five assists from 19 matches. Tshibwabwa, one of the league’s most consistent defenders, played 29 times and contributed three assists from the back.
“Sekhukhune United FC is proud to announce the contract extensions of these senior players: Linda Mntambo, Chibuike Ohizu, Daniel Cardoso, Vusimuzi Ncube, and Tresor Tshibwabwa,” the club said in a statement.
“Their commitment and fighting spirit continue with the Babina Noko family!”
With a solid foundation in place, Sekhukhune will now shift focus to strengthening the squad further as they eye a breakthrough into continental competition next season.
