Andries Ulderink will reportedly take the reins of Cape Town City for their upcoming relegation/promotion play-offs.
The Citizens ended the 2024/25 Betway Premiership campaign in 15th place and will now fight it out for a place in the South African top-flight next season with Orbit College and Casric Stars.
Ulderink was most recently head coach of Belgian side Royal Antwerp on a short-term deal, after serving as assistant coach to Philippe Clement at Scottish giants Rangers.
He was tipped to continue his coaching career in Europe, with Bayer Leverkusen a potential destination, but the Dutchman was spotted taking a training session with City this week.
No official announcement has yet been made, but FARPost reported: “Andries Ulderink has arrived at Cape Town City FC and is set to immediately take charge as the club prepares for the crucial PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs.”
The publication confirmed that, “Ulderink led Wednesday morning’s training session, signalling his immediate involvement in the team’s preparations.”
Ulderink previously coached in South Africa with Ajax Cape Town between 2018 and 2020.
