Kaizer Chiefs defender Inacio Miguel eyes Nedbank Cup redemption following a difficult season

Kaizer Chiefs defender Inacio Miguel has admitted that both he and the club have endured a disappointing season.

The Angolan international, who has recently returned from injury, says he hasn’t contributed as much as he had hoped this season, but he is determined to give everything in the upcoming Nedbank Cup final against Orlando Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

“Not at all. We have to be honest – it has been a bad season. I’ve also had a bad season,” Miguel confessed.

“A lot of goals I wanted to achieve with the club, I didn’t manage to reach. If we win the cup, it will be a big moment and we will be happy.

“But you can’t forget the bad results throughout the season. I want everyone to know this was not a good season for Chiefs.”

Despite the struggles, Miguel remains optimistic about the club’s future. “It’s a process. We won’t focus on the bad results. Our focus will be on what we can do in the future.”

Having shaken off injury concerns, the defender is eager and fully committed to the final. “I’m more than ready. It’s a final – you don’t even have to think twice. Even if you’re injured, you have to be ready. And I am more than ready for this final.”
