
AmaZulu have ended their longstanding partnership with Umbro, bringing PRIMO in as their new technical sponsor starting next season.
The announcement was made on Monday, the three-year partnership is set to commence at the beginning of the 2025/26 season.
PRIMO is also a kit sponsor for Carling Knockout Cup reigning champions Magesi FC.
Usuthu managed to turn things around after a rocky start to the season, which led to the departure of then-head coach Pablo Franco Martin.
Under the guidance of coach Arthur Zwane, they are sitting sixth on the Betway Premiership table and are in good standing to finish in the top eight.

AmaZulu Football Club has officially announced a three-year partnership with PRIMO as their new technical sponsor, set to commence with the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.
The announcement was made during the club’s event hosted at the AmaZulu Fan Experience on 05 May 2025.
The deal sees Usuthu parting ways with current kit sponsor Umbro SA, with whom they have enjoyed a great relationship.
AmaZulu FC’s President, Mr Sandile Zungu, applauded the outfit for their significant and impressive contribution to the club and dubbed it as one of the ‘easiest’ partnerships the club has had the pleasure of enjoying in past few seasons.
Zungu hailed the partnership with PRIMO as the dawn of a new era, emphasizing great synergy between the club’s culture, vision and aspirations and the Durban-based, proudly South African brand.
“This partnership means our supporters come first. It means accessibility for our fans nationwide. It means AmaZulu is well on its way to becoming the lifestyle brand it aspires to be.” Zungu said.
“It’s exciting that the gear is locally ideated, conceived and crafted, reflecting our ethos and culture.”
Zungu also highlighted added value for fans through integration with Amandla Mobile services, which will allow supporters to top up airtime, buy data, RICA SIM cards, and purchase club merchandise directly in-store at VICTORY LAB outlets Nationwide, predominantly KZN, Gauteng and the Eastern Cape.
PRIMO’s Managing Director, Gian Chidoni, outlined the backing behind the brand which is a part of the Gemelli Group—a company with strong manufacturing roots and now home to eight businesses including retail chains: Clothing Junction, Victory Lab, and SENQU.
In anticipation of the upcoming season, Fans can look forward to a third kit design competition, with the winning design set to be worn by AmaZulu in the new season amongst other prizes.”
