Transfer Merry-Go-Round: Sekhukhune United's Star Winger on the Move as Tinkler Triggers Reshuffle

Former Mamelodi Sundowns danger man, Keletso Makgalwa, has reportedly drawn interest from at least one undisclosed club.

This revelation comes directly from the player’s representative, signaling a potential move in the near future for the in-form attacker.

Makgalwa’s journey to his current success has been marked by periods of struggle.

Once a promising talent within the Mamelodi Sundowns ranks, he faced challenges in establishing himself, experiencing less fruitful loan spells at Maritzburg United and TS Galaxy. Subsequent stints with Moroka Swallows and All Stars also failed to ignite his career to the desired level.

However, a pivotal move to Upington City in 2023 proved to be the catalyst for a significant turnaround. Makgalwa’s exceptional performances in the Motsepe Foundation Championship reignited his career, ultimately paving the way for his transfer to Sekhukhune United ahead of the current campaign.

Since joining Babina Noko, the dynamic 28-year-old winger has consistently delivered impactful performances. At the time of writing, he has returned six goals and nine assists in 27 appearances across all competitions this term. This stellar form has undoubtedly made him a valuable asset to Sekhukhune United and has now seemingly attracted external interest.

Ntobatsi Masegela of Footballerz Sports Marketing, Makgalwa’s agent, addressed the speculation in a conversation with FARPost. Emphasizing the need for proper protocol, Masegela stated, “I think first and foremost we have to respect the fact that Makgalwa is contracted to Sekhkhune United and as you know he’s been one of their best players this season.

He further elaborated on the current situation, saying, “So everything that concerns Makgalwa and the enquiries has to go through the right channels and contact the club he has a contract with.

“At the moment there’s interest in Makgwala, but everything has been verbal and nothing is formal as yet.”

Masegela’s comments indicate that while there is concrete interest in acquiring Makgalwa’s services, no official bids or formal approaches have been made to Sekhukhune United at this stage. Any potential transfer would necessitate direct engagement with the club, given Makgalwa’s existing contractual obligations.

Sekhukhune United are currently enjoying a strong campaign in the Betway Premiership, occupying fourth position in the league standings with 37 points from 23 matches. They are closely trailing Stellenbosch in third place by a single point, highlighting the competition that exists in the South African topflight.
