Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro expressed his willingness for fans to get a glimpse behind the scenes in a documentary featuring the Betway Premiership team.
Pirates have agreed to allow cameras on to the training pitch and into the dressing room for some behind the scenes content this season, amid a growing worldwide trend
A number of top teams from around the world have allowed documentary makers to film their players, including Arsenal and Tottenham, and now Bucs are the latest to share some intimate moments.
Parts of the documentary, named Change Room, have already been filmed, with some of the action including a dressing room fight between Tapelo Xoki and Patrick Maswanganyi.
Riveiro said on FARPost: “What you’re getting [on the documentary] is a small percentage of what’s happening in the locker room in a match day or at training,
“We’re not going to open everything for people to know, but at the same time, we’re part of the spectacle. Football is a show and entertainment.
“There is a component of interesting things in the game, and we have to go with the times. We are in 2025, and if there are interesting things, we’re performing for the fans.
“And in other sports, like in Formula One and the NBA, it’s been like that for a long time. I think even in football it’s going to be more open as the time goes and we have to accept that, we don’t have to feel like what we’re doing in the locker room is wrong.”
