Transfer News: Kaizer Chiefs Secure New Agreement with Right Back

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly finalized an agreement in principle to retain the services of versatile defender Reeve Frosler, ensuring that he remains a vital part of Nasreddine Nabi’s quad.

The news comes as Frosler, now 27 years old, approaches the conclusion of his existing contract with the Phefeni Glamour Boys, sparking speculation about whether his performances might attract attention from other clubs in the Betway Premiership or abroad.

Despite potential suitors being drawn to Frosler’s undeniable quality and adaptability on the pitch, the defender has made his intentions clear—he hopes to continue representing Chiefs.

Speaking to SABC Sport earlier this season, Frosler expressed his desire to stay at the club that has shaped much of his professional career.

“I’d love to be here – I mean, Kaizer Chiefs, who wouldn’t want to be at a club like this? It’s a club I’ve spent a lot of time at and learnt a lot of things,” he remarked. “So I think I’ve still a lot to give to the club, but that decision does not only lie with me, I’ve got to do my part for the next few month.”

Frosler’s journey with Kaizer Chiefs began back in January 2019 when he joined the team from the now-defunct Bidvest Wits. Under the guidance of then coach Ernst Middendorp, the talented full-back wasted no time establishing himself at Naturena.

Currently, Kaizer Chiefs are navigating a transitional phase, as pointed out by Tunisian tactician Nasreddin Nabi following their recent 2-1 defeat to Golden Arrows in the Betway Premiership.

Amid this rebuilding process, Frosler has been identified as a key player who embodies the qualities needed to help steer the team toward success. His loyalty and experience make him a valuable asset as Chiefs continue to shape their squad under their newly assembled technical team.

While the finer details of Frosler’s new contract are yet to be revealed, SABC Sport has learned that the full-back is poised to remain in the iconic Amakhosi jersey beyond June 2025.

Fans eagerly await an official announcement from the club in the coming weeks, as Frosler’s continued presence promises to be a cornerstone of Kaizer Chiefs’ plans moving forward.
