Former TS Galaxy defender Samukele Kabini has opened up on his transfer to Norwegian side Molde FK.

The 21-year-old has penned a contract that will see him with the club up until 2028 becoming the first South African player to join the team.

Speaking to the club’s website, Kabini expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and added that he is anticipating his debut in the club colours.

“I am very happy to be here in Molde. It has been an exciting few days, and I am looking forward to getting started. I have heard a lot of good things about the club and have seen how Molde performs both in Norway and in Europe. It seems like a fantastic place to develop as a player,” he said.

He described his playing style as intense and physical. He can play as both the left and right centre-back.

“I like to play with intensity and use my physicality in the duel game. I have played both as a left-back and a centre-back, and I always give everything for the team,” he concluded.

The news of his transfer was earlier confirmed by Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi to SABC Sport with the deal rumoured to be around R15 million.

“Yes, Samukelo Kabini has signed for Norwegian top-flight club Molde FK, a team that has won consecutive league titles and competes in the UEFA Champions League. This is a transfer fee in euros, and it’s a record deal for us. But I’d hate to focus on that because there should be no limit – the quality should dictate the price, and Kabini’s quality speaks for itself,” Sukazi said.
