Agent confirms high demand for AmaZulu striker

Etiosa Ighodaro’s agent, Mohammed Lawal, has confirmed that AmaZulu FC is keen on keeping the striker at the club after his loan period ends.

Ighodaro, who is contracted to Mamelodi Sundowns, has been on loan at AmaZulu since the start of the current campaign. The Nigerian forward has impressed during his time with Arthur Zwane’s side, making a notable contribution in the Premier Soccer League.

The 23-year-old has featured in 23 matches, scoring five goals and providing one assist, earning praise for his performances in KwaZulu-Natal. His form has made AmaZulu eager to secure his services permanently.

However, Lawal revealed that several other clubs in the PSL are also interested in signing Ighodaro.

“He’s on loan, so as is the case with every player on loan, at the end of the spell, he returns to his parent club. That’s where we stand now, but I can confirm there’s a lot of interest in him. AmaZulu is keen to keep him, and other clubs are also interested,” Lawal told FARPost.

Ighodaro initially joined Mamelodi Sundowns in 2021 from Abuja College FC, but was immediately loaned out to University of Pretoria in the National First Division.

His loan spells also included stints with Chippa United and SuperSport United before his current move to AmaZulu.
