Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi says his side didn’t deserve to lose to Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby this weekend.
Patrick Maswanganyi scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the sixth minute of injury time at the end of the encounter.
Njabulo Blom was adjudged to have upended Relebohile Mofokeng in the area as he raced through on goal.
Nabi felt that his side at least deserved a draw from the tie, having matched their opponents for 90 minutes.
After the game, the Chiefs’ coach suggested that the awarding of the spot-kick wasn’t entirely fair, but he stopped short of criticising the referee for his decision.
Nabi told SuperSport: “I’m not going to talk anymore about this type of referees. You will see in your studio if it was a penalty or not.
“If I talk, red card. If I ask him how is your family, he gets a red card. If I ask, how are you, red card.”
Nabi added: “We gave them a lot of problems, especially during our pressing and we didn’t let them be comfortable with the ball.
“It’s a tactical team and if you give them time on the ball, they can be dangerous. They were forced to use the long balls, and we dealt with that comfortably.
“Honestly, I think for the match a 0-0 is correct, no one deserved to lose the game.”
Chiefs ended the afternoon in fifth place on the Betway Premiership standings with 21 points from 15 games.
