Manchester United are reportedly weighing up the possibility of signing a left-back in January, contingent on available funds.
Despite tight finances, the potential departures of Marcus Rashford and Antony could free up necessary capital for reinvestment in key areas, with full-back positions a priority.
The squad currently includes Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw as natural left-backs.
However, Malacia has seen limited action after a long recovery from a knee injury, while Shaw, sidelined with a muscle issue, is nearing a return but has not featured since early December.
Meanwhile, Diogo Dalot, typically a right-back, has been used as a left wing-back in manager Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system.
If funds become available, United are expected to strengthen the full-back positions.
A list of possible targets has already been drawn up, with Patrick Dorgu of Lecce, Rayan Ait-Nouri of Wolves, and Tyrick Mitchell of Crystal Palace all under consideration.
Although Nuno Mendes of Paris Saint-Germain is also on the radar, he is not viewed as a feasible option this window.
Internally, United are still discussing the size of the squad required for the remainder of the season, as they look to bolster their ranks during a pivotal January transfer window.
