Thulani Dhladhla: Free Agents FC aim to stun Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup

Free Agents midfielder Thulani Dhladhla believes his team has a “strong chance” of defeating Kaizer Chiefs in their Nedbank Cup round of 32 clash.

Amakhosi are the overwhelming favourites to progress from this tie against the ABC Motsepe side.

However, the Betway Premiership have a history of losing to so-called ‘smaller teams’ in this very competition.

Chiefs have previously suffered defeats to Baroka, TS Galaxy, Richards Bay FC and more recently Milford FC in the round of 32 last season.

Speaking after the draw, Dhladhla explained that his team will give it their all to cause an upset at the FNB Stadium on Sunday.

He said on FARPost: “I would say my teammates are excited [to play against Chiefs], personally I’m excited because I think it’s everyone’s dream to play against Chiefs or Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

“So I think they’re feeling the way that I’m feeling, they are really looking forward to this match and they are starting to prepare for it.

“I think the fixture favours us because if they’re a team that has a history of losing against lower division clubs, it means we have a good chance of winning against them.”
