News: Sithebe and Richards Bay part ways

Richards Bay FC has terminated the contract of midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe due to alleged misconduct.

The 31-year-old was dismissed following an altercation with members of the technical team, reportedly occurring in the dressing room, which led to his immediate suspension.

Sithebe’s manager, Musa Sithebe, confirmed that his client received a termination letter on December 18th. While declining to discuss the letter’s contents in detail, Musa Sithebe stated they are disputing the terms of the termination and have formally written to the club.

The club has 10 days to respond before they pursue further legal action. Furthermore, Musa Sithebe also indicated they are prepared to escalate the matter to FIFA if a resolution cannot be reached through the initial procedures.

“We have since written a letter to the club. The club have 10 days to respond before we pursue other legal options to try and resolve the matter.”

He added, “We will try to follow the procedure and if the matter is not solved, we will seek an alternative path and probably take the matter to FIFA.”
