Magesi look to builds on Bucs win as TS Galaxy search for first points

Magesi looks to build on the Orlando Pirates win as Stellenbosch looks to keep pressure on the top teams as the Betway Premiership continues this weekend.

Royal AM v Sekhukhune United

Royal AM will look to pick up their first win of the Betway Premiership season at home to Sekhukhune United on Saturday.

Currently, under a FIFA transfer ban, the club are unable to register any new players and faces the threat of expulsion from the South African top-flight.

They have started their campaign with four draws and one loss to sit in ninth position and come into this game on the back of a 3-0 Carling Cup Knockout Cup last 16 loss to Cape Town City.

Sekhukhune, in fourth place on the league standings, are, meanwhile, yet to lose, winning two and drawing one of their opening three games.

They last lost 1-0 to Richards Bay in the cup competition this past weekend.

Marumo Gallants v TS Galaxy

Marumo Gallants will look to make it three wins from three, at home to TS Galaxy on Saturday.

Gallants started their season poorly but overcame AmaZulu in the league ahead of a 3-2 Carling Knockout Cup victory over Polokwane City.

They are currently in 14th place and take on 15th-placed TS Galaxy, who have lost their opening three games, against Richards Bay, SuperSport United and Chippa United, who then went on to beat the Chilli Boys 1-0 in the cup.

Richards Bay v Stellenbosch

Richards Bay faced a tough test of their credentials at home to Stellenbosch this weekend.

The Natal Rich Boyz are in 10th place with one win, one draw and two losses, while they overcame Sekhukhune in their Carling Knockout Cup clash ahead of a narrow 1-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates last time out.

Stellies defeated AmaZulu in their last game in the Carling Knockout and are in third place on the Betway Premiership with two wins from their opening two games.

Chippa United v Golden Arrows

With two wins and a draw from their five games played this season, Chippa United find themselves in sixth, ahead of taking on eighth-placed Golden Arrows.

The Chilli Boys most recently lost 2-0 to Stellenbosch in the league after their 1-0 cup exit to TS Galaxy that followed a 2-1 league win over the same team.

Arrows, in eighth, were hammered 5-0 by Mamelodi Sundowns in their cup tie, having recorded two wins to start their season, followed by two losses.

Cape Town City v Magesi

Cape Town City host newly promoted Magesi in their Betway Premiership clash at Athlone Stadium.

Both sides have endured testing starts to their campaigns with City recording just one win from their three games played, while Magesi has one win from four.

While the Citizens, in 11th place, last beat Royal AM 3-0 to progress to the Carling Knockout Cup quarter-finals, Magesi recorded a morale-boosting 3-2 win over Orlando Pirates.
