Arend Martijn “Arne” Slot, born on 17 September 1978, is a Dutch professional football manager and former player. He currently serves as the head coach for Premier League club Liverpool.

In April 2024, it was reported that Liverpool had reached an agreement with Feyenoord for Slot to manage the club at the end of the season, succeeding the departing Jürgen Klopp.

Slot officially confirmed this news in May 2024. On 20 May 2024, Liverpool announced that Slot would assume the role of head coach on 1 June 2024, pending a work permit. On 17 August 2024, he secured his first Premier League victory with the club, leading to a 2–0 win away at Ipswich Town.

Notably, Slot became the first Liverpool manager since Gérard Houllier in 1998 to win his first game in charge. Furthermore, he achieved a significant 3–0 victory against club rivals Manchester United during his first visit to Old Trafford in his third game as manager on 1 September 2024.

This accomplishment made him only the second Liverpool manager to win in his first match at Old Trafford, following George Kay in 1936. Arne Slot has also made history as the first Premier League manager to win his first 4 away games.
