
South Africa’s U20 team, Amajita, have clinched the 2024 COSAFA U20 Cup title after a convincing 2-0 victory over Zambia in the final.

More impressive, South African goalkeeper Fletcher Smythe-Lowe maintained a clean sheet throughout the tournament as he was awarded the Golden Glove.
Player of the tournament Shandre Campbell opened the scoring in the final, while top scorer Jody Ah-Shene added his fourth goal of the tournament to seal the victory.
The triumph not only brings the COSAFA U20 Cup title to South Africa but also provides them with a crucial opportunity to compete for one of Africa’s four spots at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile next year.
The trio of Campbell, Siyabonga Mabena, and Ah-Shene, who play for Club NXT, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Cape Town City respectively, have been instrumental in Amajita’s success. Their combined experience and goal-scoring abilities have proven invaluable.
