Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr says the Betway Premiership side is still on the lookout for new signings.
Amakhosi are in preparations for the upcoming season with a new lease on life after installing Tunisian football manager Nasreddine Nabi.
They have so far snapped up Orlando Pirates defender Bongani Sam, Cape Town Spurs defender Rushwin Dortley, and former TS Galaxy goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari.
Siphesihle Tati and Nkosana Mbuthu have, meanwhile, both been promoted from the club’s reserve side.
After returning from their pre-season training camp in Turkey, Motaung Jnr admitted there is still space for reinforcements.
He said on SABC Sport: “We’re definitely not done in the transfer market because there are some glaring positions in the squad that we need to reinforce.
“We have a young squad at this moment, it’s a squad that needs a bit of experience and a bit of quality, so we’re very mindful of the demands placed on what’s coming next season.
“So, to answer the question, we’re working tirelessly day and night behind the scenes to make sure we reinforce – we’ve gotten a bit of a clear roadmap of what kind of player we need in which positions, so we’re definitely working towards that.”
Motaung Jnr added that Nabi is targeting specific types of players.
He continued: “He’s very clear on the kind of player that he wants to be at this team, and he’s very clear on the kind of football he wants to play, and very clear on the level of discipline and mentality he wants to work with.
“So, as it stands right now, it’s definitely a work in progress, but our camp is done, and I think a debrief of the way forward is what we’ll now be focusing on.”
Chiefs are next in action against Young Africans in the Toyota Cup in Bloemfontein on Sunday.
