The South American leagues have been keeping the slips alive in the offseason. It seems that everything coming out of Brazil is of high value, from Richarlison to Gabriel Jesus and Raphinha, including a couple of value bets coming through last gameweek.
Empty out your pockets and take your hats off to the country of football – “o País do Futebol”.
Sunday 10 July
Fluminense 9/10
Draw 37/20
Ceara 32/10
(00:00)
The away side have been lacklustre in getting over the line, drawing their last five Brazilian Serie A fixtures. On the flipside, they have not lost a league fixture in 11 fixtures.
Fluminense are value for money here. Three straight victories to nil, with their last triumph coming in emphatic fashion over Corinthians (4-0). 34-year-old Argentine German Cano has scored three in his last three fixtures and leading the line in red-hot form will give his side confidence going forward.
Goias 18/10
Draw 7/4
Atletico PR 31/20
(01:30)
When in Brazil it’s hard to back the travelling side, but Atletico PR gives me so much confidence. After a poor start to the campaign as the away side, they have found four victories in their last five with a draw in the mix, conceding just one goal and scoring seven.
Goias, on the other hand, compliments the confidence Atletico PR gives me with just one 1-0 win over 18th-placed Cuiaba in their last five. The head-to-head is in not in favour of the home side, losing the last three in a row.
Atletico PR at 31/20 is another value offer.
Coritiba 1/1
Draw 2/1
Juventude 26/10
(16:00)
Coritiba finally found a victory after four straight losses. A 90-minute winner from Jose Hugo to make it 2-1 has not sold me, especially when it’s against bottom-of-the-barrel Fortaleza.
Juventude has not made this any more appealing, 19th and without a win in six league fixtures; stay away from this fixture.
If you must have a bet, it’s a draw in my books.
Santos 19/20
Draw 2/1
Atletico GO 11/4
(23:00)
Santos have slipped yet again. This time, against rivals Flamengo, losing 2-1 on home soil. To be fair though, it was a very back and forth fixture, a typical all-out attack kind of run-in.
Atletico GO does have a similar run when considering their last five fixtures, but the season on a whole sees them much worse off. While still early in the season, they teeter above relegation by a point.
Both sides have weak defences, conceding 15 and 21 in 15 fixtures. They both need to have a go at each other and the both teams to score market is where I am placing a bet.
Atletico MG 13/20
Draw 23/10
Sao Paulo 39/10
(23:00)
The banker of the weekend for any multiple. Atletico Mineiro’s form on a whole has been spectacular, but their home form is the one to look at here. A goal or more in each of their fixtures at home gives me confidence considering their opposition.
Sao Paulo are competing at the top of the table this campaign. However, their away record has let them down drastically. They recently broke a winless run of eight fixtures on the road courtesy of a Luciano brace (including a penalty) which saw them defeat Atletico GO 2-1.
They now face stiffer competition and I’m backing the home side and over 2.5 totals at 17/10 for value.
Monday 11 July
Cuiaba 27/20
Draw 18/10
Botafogo 2/1
(00:00)
Botafogo picked up an emphatic 3-2 victory on enemy territory last time out. They did not come out of their war without a few casualties as key centre-back Philipe Sampaio and attacking midfielder Lucas Piazon both received marching orders. It’s now back-to-back wins for Botafogo after five winless fixtures. Fluminense have kept successive clean sheets, drawing 0-0 with America Mineiro and comfortably winning 2-0 over Avai last time out. German Cano has scored nine goals in 10 fixtures across all competitions, and you can expect him to keep up the attacking threat for Fluminense. The away team on Draw No Bet at 19/20 will keep the slip alive while not skimping on value.
QUAD @ 20/1
Fluminense Win 9/10
Atletico PR 31/20
Atletico MG Win + Over 2.5 Totals 17/10
Cuiaba Draw No Bet 13/20
