Real Sociedad have completed the signing of Japan international winger Takefusa Kubo from Real Madrid.
Kubo was confirmed as a new signing for Real Sociedad for a fee of €6.5m with Real Madrid retaining 50 percent of the Japanese’s rights.
The 21-year-old joined Real Madrid in 2019 but failed to make much of an impression and went out on loan on several occasions to Mallorca twice, Villareal and Getafe.
Kubo says that he believes his style of play is well suited to his new club and that was a determining factor in his choice.
“La Real are the most suitable team for my style,” Take said to the club’s official media after being presented. “I’ve come to a young team with a lot of ambition. I’m very happy. I want to produce the best version of myself and do my talking on the pitch. Playing in a strong team with very good players – and in my style? I can’t ask for anything more.
“Watching the team from the outside over the past few years, you can see it is a very young team, with a lot of ambition and desire, and I am happy to be part of it. The challenge for me, is that last season I saw two Japanese players win the Europa League, and since we have the opportunity to do that here at La Real, why not go for it?”
Kubo has won 18 caps for the Japan national team and scored one goal.
