Monare is expected to join his teammates in training, according to Soccer Laduma, where Spanish coach Riveiro will get an opportunity to cast an eye over his squad in pre-season.

“We brought Jarrod Bowen from a similar situation at Hull, so we’re always trying to find boys from the Championship who we think are going to step up to become Premier League players.

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has signed a new long-term contract with the club. There had been speculation about the 25-year-old’s future over the last few months having dropped down the pecking order at Anfield, making only 21 appearances in a 63-game season.
However, the club have invested a lot of faith in the player who has suffered serious knee and ankle injuries since joining in 2015 and the new contract, understood to be until 2027, is justification of that.
Former team-mate and ex-Reds captain Steven Gerrard expressed an interest in taking him to Aston Villa but the club did not want to let the player go and have responded with a contract which reflects his status as an elite performer.
The long deal is in keeping with the club’s longstanding policy of rewarding and retaining top performers and is the latest in a long line of contract renewals, which saw Mohamed Salah last week commit his long-term future to the Reds.

The likes of Thabang Monare, Gabadinho Mhango, Thulani Hlatshwayo, Linda Mntambo, Kwanda Mngonyama, Ntsikelelo Nyauza, and Justice Chabalala have all left the club in recent years, and Sangweni isn’t seeing much in terms of progress.

However, Laporta insists a player who moved to the Nou Camp in 2019 on a five-year contract is not for the sale but the club’s much-publicised financial difficulties mean the possibility still remains.
“He’s a Barcelona player and, unless we are interested in selling him in the future, he’s a Barcelona player. We don’t want to sell him,” Laporta said at a press conference to introduce new signing Franck Kessie.
