Kaizer Chiefs chairman Bobby Motaung is convinced that the new signings will make the team more competitive in the upcoming Premiership season.

Amakhosi unveiled eight new players and three new coaches as they continue their rebuilding ahead of the 2015/16 campaign.

Earlier this month 20 players were either released from their contracts or placed on the transfer list and Motaung hinted that more signings would be made in the near future.

“It is no secret that we had an underwhelming 2015/16 season. It was important for us to reflect and recognise that we deserve better,” he told KickOff.

“Accordingly, we made the necessary changes to ensure we bring the smiles back to the loyal Amakhosi faithful and our sponsors.

“We worked tirelessly with the technical team to identify and attract the best available talent in our quest to regain the titles and trophies we have become accustomed to winning.

“All these footballers are accomplished players with a wealth of top flight experience and we have every confidence that they will represent the club with great distinction as we endeavour to return to our rightful position in South African football.

“We always have an eye open for any player we feel can add value to the team and if we come across anyone that fits the description and is available, we shall certainly be interested in entertaining the possibilities.”
