Gameweek 12 sees Napoli at the summit with Inter Milan, Juventus and Lazio all in close proximity |
After 11 rounds of Serie A football, Napoli remain at the summit with Inter Milan, Juventus and Lazio all in close proximity. There’s just nine weeks to go until 2018 and yours truly is determined to build on what has already been a profitable campaign. Let’s check what’s in store this weekend.
Saturday 4 November
8/10 Bologna | Draw 24/10 | Crotone 37/10 (19:00)
Bologna will take on Crotone in this rounds curtain raiser. The hosts have been going through a rough patch of form with three consecutive defeats, while Crotone ended a winless run of four matches with a 2-1 home victory over Fiorentina. The Rossoblu will be desperate to return to winning ways, while their opponents will be hoping to make it back-to-back wins. Get on Both Teams to Score – Yes – at a valuable 11/10.
18/10 Genoa | 9/4 | Sampdoria 31/20 (19:00)
Genoa find themselves in the relegation zone with seven losses from 11 games, including back-to-back defeats. Sampdoria have been impressive with three wins from their last four matches but have suffered two losses on the bounce away from home. La Samp have, however, won the last four meetings at Genoa and look a stronger team coming into this clash. A small punt on the away team will do.
Sunday 5 November
5/10 Inter Milan | 7/2 | Torino 47/10 (13:30)
Inter Milan and Napoli remain the only teams in the league with an undefeated record for the 2017/18 campaign. Torino have been a bit unpredictable this term but their lack of consistency has set them back at times. The Turin-based club are without a win in their last three travels, including two defeats. Inter have won all five of their home matches and are tipped for another win here.
1/25 Juventus | 11/1 | Benevento 43/1 (16:00)
Juventus have been in top form in recent weeks with three straight wins, scoring 12 goals and conceding just four times. Newly-promoted Benevento have been disastrous with 11 losses from 11 games, scoring just four goals and conceding 29 times. With such little value on the home win, I’m going to go in search of a bit more value for my money. The home team to Win Both Halves offers a decent price at 5/10 – get on!
1/4 Lazio | 52/10 | Udinese 9/1 (16:00)
Lazio have been firing on all cylinders with nine wins from their last 10 matches, including six consecutive victories. Udinese have been impressive of late with back-to-back wins and they’ll be looking to maintain that form. However, they have lost four of their five travels, scoring six goals and conceding 10 times in that process. The Half-time/Full-time home win is on the cards at 13/20.
8/10 Cagliari | 26/10 | Hellas Verona 32/10 (16:00)
Cagliari have been terrible with eight losses from 11 games, scoring nine goals and conceding 20 times. Hellas Verona have been poor in recent weeks with three straight defeats as they occupy 19th place on the log. With both sides struggling to find the back of the net, a low scoring affair is expected. The Totals – Under 2.5 Goals – is well worth a punt at 19/20.
13/2 Chievo Verona | 39/10 | Napoli 7/20 (16:00)
Chievo Verona have been poor of late with two losses on the trot, including a 4-1 thumping at Sampdoria last time out. Napoli have seemed to go from strength-to-strength and remain unbeaten with 10 wins from 11 matches, scoring 32 goals and conceding just eight times. Gli Azzurri have won the last four meetings away to Chievo Verona and will be motivated to build on that. However, I do think the home side will find the back of the net, so I suggest backing the Matchbet + Both Teams to Score market – Napoli and Yes – at 33/20.
7/4 Fiorentina | 26/10 | Roma 27/20 (16:00)
Fiorentina and Roma will go toe-to-toe in what’s likely to produce a cracking contest! The Viola are off the back of a disappointing 2-1 defeat away to Crotone, while Roma have won their last three games (all 1-0 scorelines). The Viola will be eager to return to winning ways, while their opponents will be determined to remain hot on the heels of their title-rivals. Four of the last five meetings have seen Over 2.5 Goals and I’m keen to follow the pattern at 11/20.
3/10 Atalanta | 17/4 | Spal 8/1 (19:00)
Atalanta suffered a 2-1 defeat at Udinese last time out. However, they have been excellent on home soil with four wins from their last five matches, including two victories on the bounce. Spal are winless on the road, scoring just twice and conceding 10 times. La Dea have been strong on their ground and I’m backing them to come good once again. However, 3/10 is a bit too short for my liking, so instead I will be hopping on the (-1) Handicap at 17/20.
43/20 Sassuolo | 24/10 | AC Milan 5/4 (20:45)
Sassuolo are just two points above the drop zone and will be desperate not to slide into the bottom three. They have lost back-to-back games and are yet to win a match on their ground. AC Milan made a strong start to the campaign but their title hopes have slowly faded away. The Rossoneri have lost three of their five travels and have won just one of their last five games overall. Expect an open game of football with both teams tipped to score at 7/10.
TREBLE @ 3/1
Sampdoria Win 7/10
Juventus To Win Both Halves 5/10
Sassuolo vs AC Milan BTTS 7/10
