Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has confirmed that Andile Jali has been registered to play in the CAF Champions League, and he could make his debut against AS Togo-Port on Tuesday.
Jali is a part of the Sundowns squad that left for Togo on Thursday night, and is likely to make his first appearance in an official match for the Brazilians.
However, forward Percy Tau was not a part of the traveling group as negotiations are ongoing with regards to his move to Brighton & Hove Albion in the English Premier League.
Nonetheless, Mosimane confirmed the midfielder could feature although fellow new signings Toni Silva and Jose Ali Meza are not yet available.
He told Kickoff: “Yes, he is available, we have registered him. When it’s a local player it’s easier than Ali Meza and Toni Silva.
“You have to wait for the work permit. Even sometimes the league can start without getting a work permit. That’s the life when you sign foreigners.
“He (Jali) is an important player. He has adjusted well. I like to see that his aggression is still there. The passing is there, (but) he is still adjusting to the way we play because we like football that’s easy on the eye.
“We’ve got to get him to the way we play. But he’ll get there, he’s an experienced player.”
