Bafana coach Stuart Baxter is confident Phakamani Mahlambi and Lebogang Manyama will return to the national team once they have their groove back.
The two players recently made a return to South Africa after frustrating spells in Egypt and Turkey respectively.
Manyama last month joined Kaizer Chiefs on a free transfer after parting ways with Turkish side Konyaspor while Mamelodi Sundowns last week announced the signing of Mahlambi from Al-Ahly in Egypt on a five-year deal.
The attacking duo have been overlooked for Saturday’s match against Libya due to lack of game time, but the Bafana coach is confident they will make their return as soon as they have their groove back at the new clubs.
Baxter told Kick Off: “Both Phakamani and Lebo have not played for too long. They’ve had issues with their clubs; either the coach didn’t fancy them and they didn’t get enough game-time or maybe they got their heads down and got a little depressed about the whole situation.
“And that happens in football. And both of them if they get back in football and do what they do well, there’s every chance that they’ll get back into the squad. So that is that one.”
