Zinnbauer: With a little luck you win the game

Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer says ‘with a little luck’ his side would have won the encounter with Mamelodi Sundowns at Dobsonbille Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The sides played to a goalless draw in an underwhelming resumption to the Absa Premiership, but the tie was not without some thrilling goalmouth action.

Buccanneers midfielder Fortune Makaringe hit the post midway through the second half after being played in by substitute Luvuyo Memela, who made much more of an impact than Augustine Mulenga – the man he replaced.

And German tactician Zinnbauer admitted side’s first-half performance was lacklustre but said he was not ‘100 percent unhappy’ with the overall performance and result but did rue his side’s missed chances.

“First time, you could see it’s [been] a long time since we last played but we came more and more in the game. In the first-half, a 0-0 was okay. The second-half was much better, we had chances to win the game but Sundowns always had a chance,” Zinnbauer told SuperSport TV.

“It was a very difficult game for us, top players against us. Ja, in the end of the time we hit the post, with a little luck you win the game.

“I’m not 100 percent unhappy, I’m not 100 percent [feeling] bad. We have the next game in three days, that’s the focus now.”
