Zakhele Lepasa joins Siwelele after Orlando Pirates exit

Siwelele FC announced the signing of free agent Zakhele Lepasa, who parted ways with Orlando Pirates before the start of the season.

The 28-year-old was one of a number of players released by the Buccaneers at the end of last season.

He didn’t play the entire 2024/25 season after suffering with a long-term injury but has now been snapped up by struggling Siwelele on a free transfer.

The club is currently at the bottom of the log with four points, having won once, drawn once, and succumbed to six losses in their opening eight Betway Premiership matches.

The attacker joins Vincent Pule, whom he had played with at Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, and the duo of Samkelo Zwane and Happy Mashiane, who joined earlier this week on loan.

Lepasa began his career with Pirates but was loaned out to Stellenbosch and TS Galaxy before forcing his way into the first team. He has also spent time on loan at SuperSport United.

In total for the Bucs, Lepasa won five trophies while playing 64 times, scoring 15 goals and creating two assists.

A club statement read: “Yes it’s official!!! Zakhele Lepasa is apart of the family in Green and White.

“Welcome home.”
