Football agent Matthew Moore has publicly criticized Mamelodi Sundowns, claiming the club is where “your dreams die” for young players aspiring to play in Europe.
The agent’s comments are in response to a standoff over his client, Kutlwano Letlhaku, who is reportedly seeking a move away from the club.
Letlhaku, a 19-year-old winger, joined the Brazilians in 2023 from the Transnet School of Excellence. In 22 appearances for the club, he has scored three goals and provided six assists.

Despite his solid performance, Letlhaku is said to have submitted a transfer request after a reported bid from an unnamed Portuguese club was rejected by Sundowns.
Moore acknowledged that Sundowns is a great club for players who want to compete at the highest level in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and in the CAF Champions League, while also earning a good salary.
Moore told iDiski Times: “Sundowns is a great club if you are a player who wants to play in the PSL at a club with a professional environment and win things and earn a good salary and stand a chance to compete at the highest levels in CAF competition.
“No doubt about it and that is a fantastic legacy that the Motsepe family have built with Sundowns.
That being said, he warned that for young players with European ambitions, the club could become a barrier. “If you are a young player with aspirations to play in Europe, your dreams die at Sundowns,” Moore added.
He believes it would be a “tragedy” for Letlhaku and a “missed opportunity” for Sundowns if the player’s move to Europe doesn’t happen.
Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns is preparing for a crucial MTN8 semi-final clash against Orlando Pirates. The highly anticipated second-leg match will take place at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium later today.
Unbeaten in all competitions this season, the Brazilians will be looking to secure their spot in the final. Kick off is set for 15h00 in Pretoria.
