There has been a significant development in the transfer saga surrounding Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Fábio Silva, as Borussia Dortmund has reportedly withdrawn their interest.
The Portuguese striker’s future now hangs in the balance as he looks for a new club.
Silva, who is not considered a part of Wolves’ plans for the upcoming season, had been at the center of negotiations with the German club. Dortmund had made their interest clear by submitting three separate bids for the 22-year-old.

The initial discussions hinted at a potential deal worth between €20-25 million, but Wolves’ demands have since increased to a fixed fee of €25 million plus an additional €5 million in bonuses.
The negotiations reached a stalemate when Wolves’ sporting director, Domenico Teti, reportedly declined to meet with Dortmund officials. This move is said to have frustrated the Bundesliga side, leading them to abandon the talks and shift their focus to other targets.
Wolves are believed to be hoping to start a bidding war for Silva, with other clubs like RB Leipzig and Roma also linked to the player. However, it appears no other club has been able to reach an agreement with the Midlands side yet.
Despite the collapse of the Dortmund deal, a number of European clubs are reportedly still monitoring Silva’s situation closely. Since joining Wolves as a highly-touted teenager, the striker has struggled to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup and has spent recent seasons out on loan.
With the transfer window nearing its final stages, the coming weeks will be crucial in determining where Silva will play next.
