"We're Here to Stay" - Lehlohonolo Seema Outlines Siwelele FC's Betway Premiership Ambitions

New Siwelele FC head coach Lehlohonolo Seema has unequivocally stated his primary objective for the upcoming Betway Premiership season: securing the club’s top-flight status and avoiding any entanglement in a relegation battle.

Seema’s official announcement as head coach last Sunday followed the club’s significant acquisition of SuperSport United’s Premiership status, marking a pivotal moment for Siwelele FC as they prepare for their inaugural season in South Africa’s elite football league.

This appointment also signals Seema’s return to the Premiership coaching ranks, having previously departed Sekhukhune United earlier this year.

Interestingly, his former club went on to appoint Eric Tinkler, who successfully guided Sekhukhune to an impressive top-four league finish.

Tasked with leading Siwelele FC into this new chapter, Seema brings a wealth of experience to the dugout.

The Lesotho-born mentor boasts an extensive coaching resume within the PSL, having previously managed a number of prominent clubs, including Chippa United, Bloemfontein Celtic, Golden Arrows, Polokwane City, and Sekhukhune United.

This diverse background will be crucial as he navigates the challenges of a newly formed Premiership side.

At Siwelele, Seema will be supported by a seasoned technical team, with Andre Arendse serving as his assistant coach and Grant Johnson taking on the role of goalkeeper coach.

Speaking to Robert Marawa on MSW, Seema passionately articulated his immediate focus. “I’m happy to be back home,” he began, acknowledging the passionate fanbase.

“I know this is Siwelele FC and not Bloemfontein Celtic because the fans sing for Siwelele, not Celtic.” This subtle but important distinction highlights his understanding of the club’s unique identity.

He further elaborated on the clear directive received from the club’s leadership. “The chairman, Calvin Le John, was clear: we don’t want to be caught in a relegation fight like SuperSport United last season.

Our mandate is simple – make sure Siwelele remain in the league beyond next season. We’re here to stay.” Seema’s confident declaration sets a clear tone for the season ahead, emphasizing stability and long-term presence in the top flight for Siwelele FC.
