The Buccaneers returned to the top of the league standings with a 2-0 win over Richards Bay at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Wednesday.

Oswin Appollis opened the scoring after 26 minutes while Evidence Makgopa sealed the three points with a penalty in the 90th minute of the match.

The result saw Pirates move onto 47 points from 20 games, ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns on goal difference.

Speaking after the win, a steely-minded Ouaddou said his team will give their all to end Sundowns’ dominance to claim their first league title since 2012.

“A very difficult game. I can tell you that for me the most consistent teams that we faced this season were Richards Bay and Siwelele, so another tough game,” he said on SuperSport.

“We know that the PSL is a very strong league, with very good teams. And if you want to be champions you have to win such difficult games,” added Ouaddou before making a big promise to the Pirates supporters.

“Everybody is dreaming to be champions and we are fighting to be champions of course.

“And we are going to fight until the last minute, i can tell you that and promise you that we are going to die on the pitch and to believe until the last second.”
