AmaZulu welcome Orlando Pirates to Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday night for a crucial Betway Premiership clash that could reshape the title race.

Usuthu have quietly built momentum since the restart, stringing together three consecutive victories to move within touching distance of the summit. Their resilience has shone through, particularly in a dramatic 3–2 comeback against TS Galaxy and a hard‑fought 1–0 win away to Marumo Gallants. With six wins from seven home fixtures, Durban has become a fortress.

Coach Arthur Zwane has urged measured ambition, saying, “We need to keep our feet on the ground and keep on giving our best all the time; eventually, we will be rewarded, one game at a time.” Assistant coach Siboniso Vilakazi added, “It’s a very tough one, but we know very well what our task ahead is, most important thing is mental strength.”

Pirates arrive in strong form after a commanding 2–0 victory over Magesi that lifted them to second place on the log with 32 points. The Buccaneers are unbeaten in 12 league matches, including four away wins, and remain firmly in the hunt for top spot.

Head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou may look to rotate his squad with fixtures coming thick and fast, potentially handing minutes to new signing Mpho Chabatsane.

The Moroccan tactician emphasised the importance of managing his squad carefully with a busy schedule ahead, saying, “We have a lot of games coming, especially this week. We play against AmaZulu. We have the cup. We are going to play every three days. So it’s very important to manage the players.”
