Beganovic’s side secured their place in the final of the lucrative cup competition with a 4-3 penalty shootout victory over Milford in the semi-finals after the game had ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Rockets famously won the Nedbank Cup back in 2019 with a shock victory over Kaizer Chiefs, and Beganovic is hoping to repeat that feat when they face Durban City on May 2, 2026.

Speaking after seeing off Milford, an emotional Beganovic said on IOL: “Yes, it’s my second final and we lost the other one on penalties and it was painful because we presented better football on the day.

“But we kept working and dreaming for another opportunity and we will try our best to take this opportunity make history again like the team of 2019.”

The Rockets boss added that he always believed it was possible for his team to go all the way in this season’s competition.

“We beat four good opponents we played beautiful games at home,” he said on SABC> “I think our supporters support us here in an amazing way. They push us to have success.

“From the beginning, from my first press conference I believed we can do something in the Nedbank Cup and I was right. I’m so so happy.”

Next up for the 11th-placed Galaxy is a Betway Premiership clash with Polokwane City on Wednesday.

“Now this game is finished my attention is on Wednesday on our league game. We need to recover our team. We need to put attention on recovery and prepare to bring back energy and prepare our team for the league game.

“We want to be sure to collect some points and have an opportunity to fight for a top 8 spot because you know TS Galaxy has a clear vision. We want to follow that vision,” explained the head coach.
