TS Galaxy will play in Africa if they win Nedbank, says Sukazi

TS Galaxy boss Tim Sukazi

TS Galaxy boss Tim Sukazi says his side will compete in the CAF Confederations Cup should they defeat Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup final on 18 May.

Galaxy reached the final of the prestigious domestic tournament by defeating Golden Arrows 3-1 last Saturday in a semi-final encounter.

Meanwhile, Chiefs advanced after a 4-2 victory over Chippa United in the second semi-final.

The winner of the competition earns the right to compete in the CCC which could mean the National First Division side – a team from Kameelrivier – could potentially face Africa’s best if they were to shock the Glamour Boys.

He told Kickoff: “TS Galaxy FC will certainly participate in the CAF Confederation Cup, should we win the Nedbank Cup.

“The prospects of hosting African giants such as Al Ahly, Zamalek, TP Mazembe and the likes at Kameelrivier Stadium is a big motivating factor.

“We also look forward to the opportunity to exhibit to Africa the TS Galaxy football brand and style, which is loved by many South Africans.

Sukazi didn’t want to comment on any plans for transporting fans to the game but hinted something would be in place.

He concluded: “It’s too early to comment on that. All I know is that we will paint the Moses Mabhida Stadium red come 18 May.”
