Transfer News: Mike Makaab Clarifies Sipho Mbule to Kaizer Chiefs Rumours

Prominent football agent Mike Makaab has addressed the swirling speculation linking midfielder Sipho Mbule to Kaizer Chiefs, confirming that while the player has been offered to the Soweto giants, no deal is currently in place.

Makaab emphasized his commitment to respecting the club’s decision-making process and denied any attempts to pressure them into a signing.

Speaking on his X account on Sunday evening, Makaab stated, “Let me set the record straight. Sipho Mbule has been offered to Kaizer Chiefs. It is up to the club to make the decision and we need to respect that decision.”

He further clarified the situation, saying, “Kaizer Chiefs is a professional football club and their decisions will be based on what they think is best for the club. I am not trying to influence anything. Realistically, no matter what I say, I will never please everyone. My job is to do the best for my clients while respecting the football clubs I deal with.”

Mbule’s Search for a New Club

The talented 27-year-old midfielder is currently a free agent, having parted ways with Mamelodi Sundowns last month after his contract expired. Mbule spent the majority of last season on loan at Sekhukhune United, where he made 17 appearances, scoring two goals and providing three assists.

Prior to his loan spell and time with Sundowns (51 matches), Mbule was a key player for SuperSport United, featuring in 101 matches. He also boasts four caps for the South African national team, Bafana Bafana.

Kaizer Chiefs are actively preparing their squad for the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season and have reportedly shown interest in the experienced midfielder. However, as Makaab indicates, the ball remains firmly in the club’s court regarding any potential move.
