TRANSFER NEWS: Ex-Orlando Pirates forward finds a new home in Cambodia

Former Ghana under-23 international striker Kwame Peprah has joined Cambodian Premier League side Svay Rieng FC.

The 24-year-old, who once plied his trade for Orlando Pirates joins the Blue Swords after parting ways with Indian side Kerala Blasters where he played 45 games, scoring 14 goals and providing five assists, following a short stint with Hapoel Hadera in Israel.

Svay Rieng are defending league champions having won the last two league titles and Peprah joins the ambitious club as part of a raft of new changes ahead of the upcoming campaign.

He has signed a two-year deal with the Cambodian champions.

The club confirmed news of Peprah’s arrival with a post on their social media accounts on Thursday.

The players, meanwhile, posted a heartfelt farewell to the fans of Kerala.

He wrote: “Farewell for now. To everyone at Kerala Blasters, all KBFC fans, and people of India,

“Thank you so much for an unforgettable two years in Kochi. I am so grateful to have worn the yellow & blue shirt and have had the honour of performing in front of you. That incredible atmosphere will stay with me for the rest of my life – the roar of the Manjappada which greets goals & wins is truly special.

“Unfortunately this is the end of our journey together for now, but I will always remain a part of the yellow army at heart. And who knows, maybe we will meet again one day.”
