Transfer News: Chippa United set to sign ex-Pirates striker

Kermit Erasmus is reportedly close to securing a contract with Chippa United.

The former SuperSport United, Feyenoord and Mamelodi Sundowns attacker was left without a club after parting ways with Orlando Pirates prior to the start of the current season.

He was said to be joining Motsepe Foundation Championship side Cape Town Spurs but reportedly failed to agree on a deal.

Erasmus has since been training with the Chilli Boys, say iDiski Times, who report that: “There are already talks between Erasmus’ camp and Chippa as they aim to boost their striking department with experience.

“With Kwanele Kopo stepping down as the head coach, it remains unclear if that will have an impact on the talks, with United set to return to training on 3 January 2025 and will hope that the deal with Erasmus is sealed by then.”

Chippa most recent we down 1-0 to Kaizer Chiefs and are next in action against Royal AM on 11 January 2025.
