TRANSFER NEWS: Bienvenu Eva Nga signs for Italian club

Bienvenu Eva Nga has signed for Italian Serie D side Portogruaro Calcio ASD following his Chippa United exit.

The 32-year-old Cameroonian was last seen in the colours of the Chilli Boys on 7 May when they suffered a 3-0 defeat against Betway Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns, where he was replaced by Azola Matrose at the start of the second half.

He made his PSL debut back in 2020 in the colours of now-defunct Bidvest Wits before moving to Orlando Pirates.

The striker made 101 appearances for the Chilli Boys, scoring 23 goals and creating six, over two spells.

Last term, he netted three goals in 28 appearances but was one of 18 players released ahead of the new season.

He has signed a one-year deal with Portogruaro.

The Cameroonian was earlier linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, but his agent Charles Domingos cleared those rumours.

“Eva is not going to Chiefs,” said Domingos to FARPost

“His contract is ending; we have not renewed with Chippa. So, basically, he’s a free agent as we’re speaking. We’re still in talks with Chippa, but we haven’t agreed to anything. So, the player is a free agent for now,” Domingos added.
