Transfer News: AmaZulu FC make Arthur Zwane decision ahead of 2025/26 season

AmaZulu Football Club have officially confirmed that Arthur Zwane will continue as their head coach for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

The announcement, made by club president Sandile Zungu, underscores the leadership’s confidence in Zwane’s impact since his arrival at Usuthu.

Zwane joined the Durban-based side in October of the current season, initially in a co-coaching capacity alongside Vusumuzi Vilakazi. Their appointment followed the departure of Pablo Franco Martin earlier in the campaign.

However, the coaching setup underwent further changes when Vilakazi resigned in February, citing personal reasons, which left ‘10111’ to take the reins as the sole head coach.

Despite the mid-season adjustments, Zwane appears to have impressed the AmaZulu hierarchy. Speaking at the unveiling of Primo as the club’s new technical sponsor at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Monday, Zungu publicly endorsed Zwane’s tenure. The president expressed optimism for the team’s prospects under the 51-year-old’s guidance in the seasons to come.

“I can confirm that Arthur Zwane is going to be with AmaZulu beyond this season,” Zungu stated to the media. “That decision has been taken. We believe he’s done an awesome job in giving character to the team.”

Highlighting the club’s commitment to stability and recognizing Zwane’s efforts, Zungu added, “We think he needs to be rewarded with greater loyalty by us as a team as well. And that decision has been communicated not only to him but to the players and the rest of the technical team.”

“Arthur Zwane is part of AmaZulu Football Club beyond the end of this season.

That’s a fact, and we are very pleased with his good work,” Zungu concluded, solidifying the club’s faith in their head coach.

Under Zwane’s direction, AmaZulu currently occupy the sixth position on the Betway Premiership standings with 34 points from 27 matches.

They have one crucial league fixture remaining against Orlando Pirates on 24 May at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, a final opportunity to further cement their position on the log before the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.
