Transfer News: AmaZulu Appoints Simo Dladla as Assistant Coach for 2025/26 PSL Season

AmaZulu FC have officially strengthened their technical team with the appointment of Simo Dladla as assistant coach to Head Coach Arthur Zwane for the upcoming 2025/26 PSL season.

This move signals a strategic reinforcement for Usuthu as they prepare for a competitive campaign.

Dladla brings a fresh wave of success to AmaZulu, having most recently led Durban City to glory as champions of the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

His impressive achievement saw Durban City secure promotion to the coveted Betway Premiership, marking a significant milestone in his coaching career.

Interestingly, despite his promotion success, Durban City opted to part ways with Dladla. Reports suggest the club is now looking to appoint a manager with prior top-flight experience, with several outlets indicating that former SuperSport United boss Gavin Hunt is a strong candidate for the vacant position.

AmaZulu, however, wasted no time in securing Dladla’s services. The club was quick to snap up the highly-regarded former Uthongathi boss, where he will now work alongside fellow assistant coach Sboniso Vilakazi.

In an official club statement, AmaZulu Football Club expressed their enthusiasm for the new addition: “AmaZulu Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Simo Dladla to the senior technical team as assistant coach under Head Coach Arthur Zwane. Dladla joins Usuthu fresh off a successful campaign, having recently guided Durban City FC to promotion into the Betway Premiership just a month ago.”

The statement also highlighted Dladla’s connection to the club’s history: “He is no stranger to AmaZulu, having donned the green and white jersey during his playing days, making this a meaningful return to familiar grounds.” This return marks a full-circle moment for Dladla, transitioning from player to a key figure in the coaching staff.

Expressing his excitement about his new role, Dladla stated, “I am extremely pleased with this opportunity in my career. AmaZulu FC is a big club with great ambitions.

I look forward to contributing to the project.” His sentiments underscore the club’s aspirations for the new season and his eagerness to play a significant part in their journey.

This appointment is expected to bring new tactical insights and a winning mentality to AmaZulu as they aim to make a strong impact in the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.
