Cape Town City head coach Eric Tinkler felt his side were full merit for their 1-0 victory over Golden Arrows at Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday.
City dominated the match throughout but only found the breakdown in the 78th minute courtesy of Khanyisa Mayo’s free-kick.
It was important for City to get back to winning ways in the league after three matches without a win and Tinkler believes his side should have triumphed by more than one goal.
“Once we made one or two changes and brought in a few fresh legs I think the game turned on its head,” Tinkler said post-match.
“We should have won by two or three [goals] in my opinion.
“Mayo gets the goal from a free-kick but he had another chance just before that and right at the end when Mayo again was one on one with the goalkeeper.
“I think ultimately the result is a deserved result.”
The Citizens now turn their attention to a clash with Orlando Pirates on Wednesday 2nd March.
