Stellenbosch defender Thabo Moloisane expects the experience gained by playing in the CAF Confederation Cup to help him on the international stage.
The 26-year-old centre-back was rewarded for his impressive displays by Stellies this season with a place in Broos’ squad for two upcoming World Cup qualifiers with Lesotho and Benin.
He has played three times for the South Africa under 20 side but is yet to feature for the senior team.
Speaking ahead of Friday’s game at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, Moloisane was reported by the Sowetan to have said: “It’s very important going to the national team, having had experience on the continent with your team… you kind of have a taste of what’s required to play at this level; and you have a proper judgment of what’s expected of you.
“The experience of playing in the CAF Confederation Cup prepared me for the international stage.”
Moloisane will compete with Siyabonga Ngezana and Grant Kekana for a place in the Bafana defence.
