Technical Team Surgery at Chippa United: Mabhuti Khenyeza Departs Amidst Major Overhaul

Former Bafana Bafana striker Mabhuti Khenyeza is back on the job market after a brief tenure as assistant coach at Betway Premiership side Chippa United.

His departure is understood to be an amicable separation as the Chilli Boys embark on a significant technical team overhaul ahead of the new season.

Khenyeza had joined the club late last season as part of Thabo September’s technical staff, following September’s appointment after the departure of Kwanele Kopo.

However, September himself reportedly declined a contract renewal with the club, paving the way for a sweeping restructuring of Chippa United’s coaching setup.

This extensive overhaul signals the club’s intent to revitalize its technical department, a move further emphasized by the recent appointment of Sinesipho Mali as the new Sporting Director.

Khenyeza’s exit by mutual agreement means the former Golden Arrows coach is now evaluating his next career move. His previous experience as a head coach with Arrows adds a layer of experience to his coaching profile, making him a potentially attractive candidate for various roles within South African football.

Meanwhile, Chippa United is actively exploring options to fill its vacant technical positions. Several prominent names are reportedly under consideration, including the experienced Dan Malesela, Abdeslam Ouaddou, and Sinethemba Badela.

The club is keen to make swift appointments to ensure a seamless start to preseason preparations and to effectively guide their player recruitment strategy for the upcoming campaign.

This period marks a crucial phase for Chippa United as they aim to stabilize and strengthen their on-field performance through a refreshed technical approach.
