Former Kaizer Chiefs captain Keagan Dolly has been presented with an opportunity to transition into a backroom staff role at TS Galaxy, fresh off his one-season playing stint with the club.
This offer comes after a career that has seen both significant achievements and challenging setbacks.
Dolly’s three-and-a-half-year tenure at Kaizer Chiefs, which began in 2021, was a mix of exhilarating highs and frustrating lows.
Despite arriving with a strong reputation, his time with the Soweto giants was unfortunately marked by injuries and other circumstances beyond his control, shaping a bittersweet narrative for the seasoned campaigner.

Ahead of the recently concluded 2024/25 Betway Premiership season, Dolly penned a deal with TS Galaxy. In a candid interview with Ikwekwezi FM, TS Galaxy President Tim Sukazi shed light on the circumstances surrounding various player exits, including Dolly’s.
Sukazi explained the natural ebb and flow of player movements in football. “In football, there’s a season where players leave and get new players in the team. So, it’s normal in football for that to happen, and the reasons for players to go and others to come are different,” Sukazi was quoted as saying by Sportswire.
Regarding Dolly specifically, Sukazi revealed that the player’s one-year contract had simply expired. The club then had an open discussion with Dolly, informing him that a full-time playing role, where he would consistently start and finish games, was no longer feasible for him at Galaxy.
That being said, TS Galaxy extended an intriguing alternative recognizing the value he provides. “About Dolly, we signed him for only a one-year contract,” Sukazi explained.
“His contract has now ended, and we sat down with him and told him that he cannot play full-time for TS Galaxy like starting the game and finishing it. Besides that, we also saw that there’s another role he can play off the field as a staff member, not as a player. So, he told us that he’s going to think with his family about this.”
This latest development suggests that TS Galaxy sees significant value in Dolly’s experience and footballing brain, even if his playing days at the highest level are winding down. It remains to be seen whether the former Bafana Bafana international will accept this new chapter in his career.
